Serum Albumin, also known as “Fraction V,” is a serum albumin protein obtained from bovine blood. Protein is isolated and fractionated through a specific heat-shock process, followed by intensive diafiltration and ion-exchange to eliminate other plasma proteins, lipids, and extraneous ions. Serum Albumin has various biochemical applications, including ELISAs (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay), immunoblots and immunohistochemistry. It is also utilized as a stabilizer and cell growth supplement in cell and microbial cultures. Additionally, BSA has numerous other applications, such as in serum-free cell culture, as an additive for hybridoma cell culture, protein stabilizer and blocking agent.
